Mrs. Sadiqa Salahuddin
Founder of IRC

Mrs. Sadiqa Salahuddin is the founder and Executive Director of the IRC. Mrs. Sadiqa did her Masters in Economics from Karachi University after which she did a second Masters in Economics from Syracuse University, USA. She completed her M.S in Management from Management Education Institute, USA. Previously, she served as Director in NGO Resource Centre which aimed at capacity building and creation of an enabling policy environment for civil society. She has also done consultancies with different well known organisations like USAID, SUNGI, PCE, UNICEF, SWISS NGO, INTRAC, Government of Pakistan etc.

Mr. Moula Buksh Larik

Mr. Moula Buksh Larik holds an LLB degree & Masters degrees in Education and Muslim History. Mr Larik has served almost 31 years in Education Department as Senior Teacher, Head Master, and Deputy Director. He retired as District Education Officer in 1991. Thereafter he joined Shah Abdul Latif University in the capacity of Advisor to VC for establishing and running B.Ed. & M.Ed. classes. In 1996 under the NOWA initiative in Khairpur, Mr. Larik started work on literacy, especially for education of adult girls. Now with the collaboration of DIL, NOWA has institutionalised formal systems and is providing quality education for girls in rural Khairpur. Mr Larik is a member of Executive Committee of ESRA. He is also serving as Chairman, Advisory Committee of Red Crescent Hospital.

Mr. Naseer Memon

Mr. Naseer Memon has done B.E (Civil Engineering) from Mehran University and is currently working as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Strengthening Participatory Organisation (SPO) Islamabad. He is active Member of Pakistan Environmental Assessment Association and Sub Project Implementation Committee; Fellow of Leadership for Environment & Development International; Technical Advisor to Pakistan Network of Rivers, Dams and People; and former Member of Advisory Council, Sindh NGOs Federation and Provincial Steering Committee, National Drainage Program. He has also authored many publications on environment and water.

Mr. Zaffar Junejo

Mr. Zaffar Junejo has done Masters in Rural Development and Computer Technology from Sindh University, Jamshoro. Currently he is serving as Director in Trust for Rural Development. Mr. Junejo has worked with many organisations as facilitator and resource person. These include Agha Khan Rural Support Program, Gilgit; Oxfam, Sindh; Church World Service, Pakistan & Afghanistan; SEEDS, Sarvodhaya, Sri Lanka; Action Aid, Islamabad; SIDA, Hyderabad; SPO, Sindh; and GNRC, Japan & Sri Lanka. Mr Junejo is a well-known Columnist of Daily Sindh and Daily Hilal-e-Pakistan. He is also an active member of The Karachi Theosophical Society.l.

Dr. Nighat Shah

Dr. Nighat Shah has done MBBS, MCPS and FCPS. She is a consultant gynaecologist, a private practitioner, and Lecturer at Aga Khan University Hospital. She is working as General Secretary of Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Pakistan. She is renowned for her extensive work on prevention of maternal mortality. Dr. Nighat is an active Board Member of People’s Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI) committed to reducing maternal and new-born mortality in Sindh.

Ms. Amar Sindhu

Ms. Amar Sindhu is Professor in Philosophy Department of Sindh University, Jamshoro. A well-known Sindhi poetess, she has also authored a few books in Sindhi on different social issues. Ms. Amar Sindhu whose real name is Ms. Salma Baloch is also an active member of Women Action Forum.

Ms. Aliya Salahuddin

Ms. Aliya Salahuddin has done BSc Honors in Economics from Lahore University of Management Sciences. She completed her Masters in International Relations from University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. She has worked as Journalist for The News. In 2002 she worked for Manduck Productions, Karachi as a Freelancer. She produced the first reality show in Pakistan called “George Ka Pakistan” that set a 3-month challenge for a British man to become a Pakistani. Currently she is Head of Special Assignments in Geo TV.
