Indus Resource Centre (IRC) is a non-government organization working for changing the rural lives in Pakistan by mainstreaming the marginalised through its comprehensive programmes for education, income generation, empowerment of the poor, disaster relief and recovery, democracy, and advocacy support.
IRC is currently working in 9 districts of Sindh viz. Karachi, Khairpur, Larkana, Dadu, Jamshoro, Sukkur, Ghotki, Shikarpur and Qamber Shahdadkot.
IRC is run by a Board of Governors comprising of renowned educationists and development professionals. Members of the Senior Management Team head the District Offices and report to the Executive Director in Karachi.
The average dropout rate in our schools is less than 8%.
IRC has both segregated schools and co-ed schools. The gender distribution in IRC Sojhro schools is 60% girls vs 40% boys. Whereas in government adopted schools the ratio is 49% girls and 51% boys.
On an average, per child cost in IRC schools is Rs 960/-.
IRC does not have an Endowment Fund at present.
IRC accounts are audited by BDO Ebrahim & Co. Chartered Accountants.
