The village consists of 1000 houses, having 6000 (approx) population of Sindhi speaking community. Located near Korangi fish Harbor, Bin Qasim Town, Malir District Karachi, the area consists of industries that export fishes, crabs and poultry feed. The impact of these industries on the environment is quite harmful.

Street crime is rampant in the area. There is no market, basic health unit, college, gas or public transport facility available in this village. Majority of people suffering with diseases such as polio, hepatitis, skin diseases, T.B and mouth cancer due to consumption of pan, gutka, moonshine and other drugs.

	Major Objectives and Achievements	The ESRA program supported the Government of Pakistan’s Education Sector Reform efforts by operating across five technical areas: (1) policy and planning; (2) professional development for educators and administrators; (3) literacy; (4) public-private-community partnerships; and (5) Information and Communication Technologies. Out of the five components mentioned above, IRC was engaged in two: professional development of educators and administrators, and literacy. The training was in-class, follow-up and then in-class. Therefore, two phases of two-week in-class training workshops were conducted for teachers and in between they were given an assignment to be carried out in their own schools for four weeks. Support was provided for that assignment too. Finally after the second phase training, two weeks field support was made available. For administrators or Head Teachers, the training was conducted in two phases of four weeks each.
